ARBA | 1/32 Avia S-199 Conversion Set Reviewed by Steve Messer. Better known for their smaller scale resin WW2 Luftwaffe subjects, English aftermarket supplier ARBA has aimed for something a little different for their first effort in 1/32nd scale, a conversion set for the Hasegawa G-14 kit - The AVIA S-199.

The "Rote Sieben" (Red-7), a privately owned Hispano HA-1112-M1L Buchon rebuilt as a Bf 109 G in Germany. The final variant was the HA-1112-M1L Buchón ( Pouter ), which is a male dove in Spanish. It first flew on 29 March 1954 with a 1,600 hp Rolls-Royce Merlin 500-45 [4] engine and Rotol propeller, both purchased as surplus from the UK. [4]

The Weekend edition kit of Czechoslovak single engine fighter Avia S-199 with ERLA canopy in 1/72 scale. This type of aircraft was used by the Czechoslovak and Israeli air forces. This is an unassembled plastic model kit. Assembly and painting required. Paint and glue is not included and is sold separately.

The Jumo 211 F (same engine and prop as the He 111!) in the Avia S199 rotated in the same direction as the DB 600 series – clockwise, when viewed from the pilot (as is obvious from the model). The handling shortcomings of the 199 apparently had a lot to do with the paddle blade prop and the enormous torque of the 211 engine.
